On Sunday, September 22, photographer Raegan Labat comes to BRG for a special Sundays@4 presentation that delves deep into her monthly photo column, “Frame of Mind,” for The Advocate’s Red section, with some help from three artists whose spaces have been documented for the series.
The series takes readers inside the studios and creative spaces of artists across disciplines, allowing for an intimate look at how local art is impacted by the “where” it is created.
Printmaker (and BRG artist member) Kathryn Hunter, ceramicist Osa Atoe, and musician David Hinson - who have all been profiled as part of the Frame of Mind series (linked above) - will join Labat to lend insight on creative spaces and the experience of having their own documented and shared.
The event, as with all Sundays@4 events, is open to the public free of charge.

“Stepping inside an artist’s work space can give you a deeper understanding of the artist and the work they make,” says Labat. “Having the chance to further understand things like their process, their environment, what they work with, and what inspires them and drives them has been invaluable.”
Raegan Labat is an artist and freelance photographer in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She earned her BFA in Photography from Louisiana State University in 2017. Labat currently photographs for clients and local Baton Rouge publications such as 225 Magazine and The Advocate. She is inspired by analog and instant film and practices the medium in her personal work documenting music, travels and her recent exploration of self portraits. In her spare time you can catch Raegan helping out at her family-owned record store or tending to her balcony garden with her cat Pia.
