It’s not hard to understand that the best way to digest something is to eat it one bite at a time. The same is true when learning to play jazz. Jazz is sometimes seen as a magical language that can only be understood by snobs and hipsters. However, the truth is that jazz is an art form that can be learned by anyone willing to take small bites.
Students in the EBR Talented Music program, under the direction of Mr. David Hinson and Dr. John Madere, have been working on this idea for some time and they are ready to show everyone what they’ve been up to! Featuring students from Glasgow, Westdale, and Woodlawn Middle Schools, you’re invited to enjoy an afternoon of music and snacks at the First Annual Finger Sandwich Festival for Combos and Young Improvisers.
As always, Sundays@4 events are free and open to the public.
