Movies & Music on the Lawn's 20th Season Continues with 'Kids Night' featuring Pixar Shorts
Join us on Saturday, August 25 when BRG's popular summer film series, Movies & Music on the Lawn, Presented by Pop Shop Records, hosts its second annual "Kids Night" with a truly special presentation. The kids of The Real School of Music will perform original scores for some of the most beloved silent films from the last twenty years: the short films from Pixar!
This will be the fourth of five presentations during Movies & Music's 20th year of bringing together the best silent films of all time with the best musicians of our time (and place).
As always, BRG members get in free of charge and everyone enjoys bottomless popcorn!
Come early (starting at 7 p.m.) and get animating yourself with a special zoetrope activity, courtesy of our friends at Knock Knock Childrens' Museum!
The Real School of Music, led by Doug Gay, has taken on the mission of developing communication and leadership skills for children through quality music instruction. They customize programs, lessons, and mentorship opportunities to the needs of each individual. Their students range in age from 3 to 17 and work with a wide array of instruments. Anyone who found themselves on the back law for last year's Kids Night knows this group is uniquely qualified to deliver the perfect sounds to keep your whole family glued to the big screen!
Pixar has revolutionized the face of animation over the past twenty years, creating some of the most lovable and funny characters we've ever seen in children's films. Their short films, often seen before their feature films, are equally as impressive. For this special engagement, get a taste of Pixar's entire history through their shorts, dating all the way back to the mid 1980s.
Bring the entire family for a night for kids, by kids, as BRG, The Real School of Music, and Pixar join forces!
