This time, Baton Rouge’s own Alabaster Stag is set to take on the film that helped set the stage for ‘Rent’ to takeover the Broadway stage, 1926’s La Boheme.
This is a rescheduled date due to inclement weather on the event’s previously scheduled date.

About La Bohème (1926): Based on the nineteenth century Italian opera of the same name, ‘La Bohème’ tells the story of struggling bohemians trying to survive in Paris’ Latin Quarter. Directed by King Vidor and starring Lillian Gish and John Gilbert, the film follows starving artists in their pursuit of fame and fortune in the bitter Parisian winter of 1830. What’s left is a tragic, yet beautiful love story that inspired the hit Broadway musical, ‘Rent’ (1996).
Mordaunt Hall of the New York Times called [the film] “a production that is virtually flawless.” The film was one of MGM’s top box office hits of the year.
