Movies & Music: Kids Night

  • Baton Rouge Gallery 1515 Dalrymple Drive BATON ROUGE United States (map)

Be here on Saturday, August 30, as BRG's Movies & Music on the Lawn, presented by Pop Shop Records, presents its third annual Kids Night. This year, BRG is proud to bring you another unique Movies & Music event for kids and by kids. Join us as talented young musicians perform their original score for a timeless story loved by kids everywhere.

As an added bonus for Kids Night, our neighbors and friends at Knock Knock Children’s Museum will be helping us host a Mad Hatter’s (Iced) Tea Party ahead of the film (starting at 6:30pm). Kids can come play with a giant chess board and decorate their own cup before a refreshing spot of tea. And once the film starts they’ll enjoy bottomless popcorn and one of the most unique film series in town. Admission is just $7 (and BRG members pay nothing to enjoy the whole series). No admission charge for kids under the age of four.

About Baton Rouge Music Studios: Led by Doug Gay, Baton Rouge Music Studios, has taken on the mission of developing communication and leadership skills for children through quality music instruction. They customize programs, lessons, and mentorship opportunities to the needs of each individual. Their students range in age from 3 to 17 and work with a wide array of instruments. Anyone who found themselves on the back lawn for either of the past two Kids Night events knows this group is uniquely qualified to deliver the perfect sounds to keep your whole family glued to the big screen!

About Alice in Wonderland: We all know the 1951 Disney version of Alice in Wonderland wherein a young Alice, bored by her studies, becomes distracted by a mysterious white rabbit who leads her down a path that opens up into a world of discoveries and adventures. This classic was originally adapted from Lewis Caroll’s famous books, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass, but did you know that there are several film adaptations of the books that came well before Disney did theirs? We will be experiencing just such a film with the 1915 classic directed by W. W. Young. Come experience this wonderful early translation of Alice’s journey.

Join us for Movies & Music on the Lawn’s 2019 finale with a night for kids, by kids that may or may not include rabbits…
